TC17 - .NET/ Angular ASP.NET

TLDR

Modernize a mature .NET stack by delivering full-stack features while migrating UI to Angular and strengthening security practices.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full-Stack Engineer with strong expertise in ASP.NET (Framework & Core), C#, SQL Server, and modern web front-end technologies. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a mature, mission-critical codebase — balancing day-to-day feature work with a structured modernization roadmap (security remediation, dependency upgrades, and migration toward modern .NET).

The role spans the full stack — from server-side C# and SQL Server data layers, through RESTful Web APIs, to browser-side jQuery, Kendo UI, and Bootstrap interfaces (with incremental migration toward Angular) — with a strong emphasis on secure coding, vulnerability remediation, and clean architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Frontend Development

  • Maintain and enhance browser-based UI built on jQuery, jQuery UI, Kendo UI, and Bootstrap.
  • Lead targeted UI modernization tasks — jQuery 1.x/2.x → 3.7.x upgrade, Bootstrap 3 → 5 migration, Kendo UI version upgrades, and incremental migration of select UI surfaces to Angular + TypeScript.
  • Implement responsive, accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA / Section 508) interfaces using HTML5, CSS / LESS / SCSS.
  • Build interactive grids, charts, schedulers, and data-bound widgets using the Kendo UI component suite.
  • Write robust client-side validation (jQuery.Validation today; reactive forms / RxJS in the modernized stack).
  • Optimize web applications for speed, browser compatibility, and assistive-technology support.

Backend Development

  • Design, implement, and maintain backend services across multiple .NET projects (Web, Business, Domain, Framework, and Windows Service layers).
  • Build and consume RESTful Web APIs in ASP.NET / ASP.NET Core; design clean contracts, versioning, and documentation.
  • Write clean, maintainable C# following SOLID principles and clean architecture patterns; refactor legacy code progressively without disrupting production behavior.
  • Build and maintain automated unit and integration tests using xUnit / NUnit; enforce regression coverage on critical flows.
  • Develop efficient data-access layers using Entity Framework and ADO.NET where required.
  • Maintain integrations: accounting providers (QuickBooks), image processing (Magick.NET), logging (log4net), JWT-based authentication (Microsoft.IdentityModel.JsonWebTokens), XML signing (System.Security.Cryptography.Xml), BouncyCastle cryptography, and WebDAV.

Database & Data Modeling

  • Design and evolve relational schemas in SQL Server; write efficient T-SQL stored procedures, views, indexes, and migrations
  • Perform strong data modeling to support complex investigation, case, and document workflows.
  • Profile and optimize slow queries; ensure application-level data integrity and transactional correctness.

Security & Modernization

  • Drive vulnerability remediation work tracked by SCA scans (Aikido or equivalent) — package upgrades (Magick.NET, Newtonsoft.Json, log4net, BouncyCastle, AutoMapper, jQuery, Kendo UI, Bootstrap, IdentityModel), CVE triage, and safe rollout.
  • Migrate legacy packages.config projects to PackageReference to expose transitive dependency risk.
  • Apply OWASP secure-coding practices: input validation, output encoding, authentication/JWT validation, XML/XXE hardening, dependency hygiene.
  • Contribute to the .NET Framework → .NET 8/10+ modernization roadmap where applicable.

DevOps & Tooling

  • Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
  • Integrate SCA scanning into the pipeline; gate pull requests on Critical/High findings.
  • Use Git for version control and follow collaborative branching strategies (feature branches, PR reviews, conventional commits).
  • Work closely with QA and DevOps to ensure smooth deployments, observability (log4net, application logs), and rollback safety.
  • Containerize services with Docker where appropriate to support modern hosting and local dev parity.

Must have

  • 5+ years building production .NET applications — strong command of C# and the .NET ecosystem (Framework & Core).
  • Hands-on experience with ASP.NET / ASP.NET Core Web API and designing RESTful services.
  • Solid experience with SQL Server — schema design, T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Proficient in JavaScript / TypeScript with hands-on experience in jQuery-based applications and component libraries such as Kendo UI and Bootstrap.
  • Experience or strong interest in modern UI frameworks (Angular preferred).
  • Strong understanding of SOLID, clean architecture, separation of concerns, and dependency injection.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (xUnit / NUnit / MSTest; Jest or Jasmine on the front end)
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and OWASP Top 10; ability to triage and remediate CVEs from SCA tools.
  • Comfortable working in a long-lived codebase using legacy patterns (packages.config, Web Forms, jQuery) while incrementally modernizing.
  • Experience with Git, pull-request review workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, debugging discipline, and ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — able to document decisions and explain technical trade-offs to non-engineers.

Nice to have

  • Experience modernizing .NET Framework → .NET 8/10+ applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Angular (v18+), RxJS, and NgRx or similar state management libraries.
  • Working knowledge of AWS — EC2, S3, RDS (SQL Server), Lambda, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch — for hosting, storage, and operational monitoring.
  • Experience deploying .NET workloads to AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, or EC2) and integrating with managed services.
  • Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and bounded-context modeling.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven patterns.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
  • Exposure to Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
  • Experience integrating with payment / accounting systems (QuickBooks) or document management / WebDAV platforms.
  • Familiarity with image-processing libraries (Magick.NET / ImageMagick) and document/forms workflows.
