Technical Recruiter

Role – Local Roots Farms is in need of a Technical Recruiter that will be responsible for growing our most valuable asset: our people. As the face of Local Roots, this individual will exude both a professionalism appropriate for bringing in the highest-level candidates, while also conveying the fun, collaborative culture of the company. A successful candidate must be able to think strategically to continuously refine our methods, while also having the ability to roll up their sleeves and tackle the work of sourcing. This individual will be invested in developing working relationships with Hiring Managers, becoming a strategic partner in helping both their technical and non-technical teams grow. This person will be responsible for bringing excellent candidates through our recruitment process, from start to finish, ensuring a positive candidate experience the whole way through.

Responsibilities – You should be confident making significant contributions in the following categories:

• Effectively communicate the company’s mission, high-level business objectives and technical undertakings to prospective candidates
• Ability to understand and communicate requirements for technical positions
• Write, review and post job descriptions for open positions
• Source, pre-screen and screen candidates for a variety of technical and non-technical positions
• Collaborate with Hiring Managers to understand their needs, acquiring the necessary information to most efficiently produce short-lists of candidates
• Invest in coaching others on sourcing tactics to ensure we maximize our reach
• Lead and develop the company’s internal recruiting strategy and eventual team
• Strategize to fill open positions efficiently, effectively prioritizing based on hiring plan
• Creatively utilize a range of recruiting tactics, both passive and active, and deploy strategically
• Advocate for and ensure a positive candidate experience by collaborating with various internal stakeholders
• Work closely with Workplace Experience Manager to seamlessly and consistently merge candidate and employee experience
• Form and possess an understanding of our competitor landscape
• Facilitate relationships with universities, agriculture groups, and engineering collectives

Requirements – Your background should include the following:

• 4-12 years of recruiting experience in at least two of the following fields: Plant (ISO Manufacturing), Automotive, Aerospace, Software, and Electronics
• 6+ years experience as a corporate or in-house recruiter
• Four-year college degree in Business, Human Resources, Marketing, or like discipline
• Understanding of different engineering cohorts to be able to effectively screen candidates’ experience level
• Track record of filling positions quickly and effectively
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple items of high-importance simultaneously
• Comfortable speaking professionally over the phone and is an excellent “host”
• Thrives working in a fast-paced, growing company
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
• Impeccable time management skills
• Ability to think strategically and work independently
• Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and solid knowledge of sourcing techniques
