Temporary Researcher, Quantitative EEG and Machine Learning

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Neurological Surgery is hiring for a Temporary Researcher, Quantitative EEG and Machine Learning

The Temporary Researcher will support research activities focused on quantitative analysis of intraoperative electroencephalography (EEG) data obtained during cardiac surgery. Responsibilities include preprocessing and quality assessment of EEG recordings; extraction of quantitative EEG features; statistical analysis of physiologic and clinical datasets; development, implementation, and evaluation of machine learning models for prediction of neurologic and perioperative outcomes; integration of EEG-derived biomarkers with clinical variables; preparation of data summaries, figures, and reports; and contribution to manuscript and grant preparation. The researcher will work closely with the investigative team to ensure reproducible analytical workflows and compliance with institutional data management and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

·       PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, or a related field.

·       Experience with EEG signal processing and quantitative EEG analysis.

·       Proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB, or equivalent analytical software.

·       Experience developing and validating machine learning algorithms for biomedical data.

Minimum education to be considered for this position is a PhD Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, or a related field.
