UX/IxD Design Instructor (Part-Time)
TLDR
Teach UX and IxD to students using DESIGNATION's proprietary curriculum, mentor learners, and contribute to curriculum development and thought leadership.
You love UX and IxD and have a lot of experience in it. You are a designer by day, but you would love to teach aspiring designer students the power of research, interaction design, and usability. The UX/IxD instructor role is an evening part-time position, with 6pm - 9pm lectures six times per month, as well as two Saturday workshops and office hours.
Responsibilities:
Teach User Experience (UX) and Interaction Design (IxD) to students (8 classes/month); you would teach DESIGNATION's proprietary design curriculum, but would be able to add your own flavors to the content
Mentor students and provide feedback in-person and via email
Connect job-ready students with any potential opportunities; interface with the student job placement program
- Contribute to improving the UX and IxD curriculum
Contribute UX and IxD thought leadership articles to the DESIGNATION blog, and speak or host workshops/events throughout the year
4+ years industry experience
You are a working professional with a passion for research and user-centered design; you have a ton of experiences and insights to share with aspiring students who want to break into the UX field
You love technology, and are committed to helping people understand the principles of user experience research as it pertains to digital design
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Educational background is a plus, but not a requirement
