GitHub has a history of creating inspiring and best-in-class videos that effectively meet key business results while they inspire, surprise and delight our developer audiences. As part of GitHub’s Broadcast Video team, you will create videos that support GitHub’s marketing, go-to-market, communication, and events teams. You’ll be responsible for world class creative storytelling through editing across a wide variety of video, audio, motion graphics, and graphic assets. To be successful, you’ll be an organized and competent editor with great communication skills, a passion for good storytelling, and a love for developer-led stories.

What you'll do:

  • Edit a wide range of content including video and audio for broadcast, events, social media, marketing and product initiatives, and more
  • Maintain thorough organization of all files from post through archival
  • Collaborate with creative leads, production teams, producers, and studio leads to enhance workflow
  • Become well-versed in GitHub’s messaging and positioning, and apply our voice and tone in content to inspire enterprise customers and delight our superfans
  • Work with stakeholders to adapt, extend and repurpose content to fully maximize the potential of each effort (variety of lengths, formats, styles, distribution platforms, etc - based on the needs for each initiative)
  • Work with project managers, stakeholders, and creative teams to meet deadlines
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 4+ years of editing experience that includes work in tech
  • Proven creative editor with foundational knowledge of varying editing approaches and an awesome portfolio
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere and After Effects
  • Experience working with multiple video formats and editing across multiple mediums (including live broadcast, social, live, streaming, etc)
  • Proficient with the implementation of motion graphics and working with motion designers (advanced motion graphic skills a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of color correction and audio editing
  • Familiarity with rights and clearances
  • Knowledge of post tools and systems
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
