VP Data Science

Pace was founded on on the basis of ground-breaking, unpublished, statistical research. This research is being productionised into python by our team of quant developers, and Pace stack generates industry-leading time-series forecasting and price elasticity analysis.

As we embark on the second leg of our journey your team will be complementing the existing platform with additional data dimensions and approaches. The scope of your team will range from long-term research on modelling to econometrics, statistics and behavioural economics.

THE COMPANY

Pace is revolutionising the travel-industry by giving back power to the suppliers. For years travellers have had tools to find the best and cheapest flights, hotels and events. Pace focuses on giving suppliers the tools they need to operate effectively.

Our first customers are independent hotels, who we provide with predictive analytics and automated responses to optimise their utilisation and revenues. For the first time hoteliers can now trust that they are responding accurately and rapidly to changes in demand and always selling at the optimal prices.

The Pace platform is based on proprietary algorithms and machine learning techniques that originated in the finance and aerospace industries. Pace is headquartered in London and has raised more than £1 million in seed capital from well-known venture capital funds.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Lead and manage the overall direction and roadmap for data science at Pace
• Working closely with our product owners and tech team to align priorities
• Driving customer relationships to understand needs and data challenges
• Representing Pace in front of high-profile customers and investors
• Working closely with our Chief Scientist to define science strategy

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Quant
• PhD in machine learning, statistics or applied maths
• Professional experience with Python and its scientific stack
• Stellar communication skills
• Experience in building and managing teams
• Experience working in a startup or similar environment
• Somebody who loves what they do and is passionate about data

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

• £80,000-£120,000
