We are actively seeking an exceptional IT Manager who will provide problem-solving skills, mentoring, and leadership for our IT Team, while taking ownership of our various SaaS and in-house systems. This role requires versatility and the ability to handle numerous and sometimes competing tasks. The IT Manager must be service-oriented and a team player who enjoys helping people. This employee is empowered to use their skills and knowledge to solve problems, improve processes, and support teams across the organization — including guiding the team's responsible adoption of AI-powered tools and workflows.
The Vice President of Engineering drives the implementation and operation of our product vision and leads multiple technical organizations. These include Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Analytics. Reporting to the CTO and working in lockstep with the VP of Architecture, SVP of Data Science, and the Product Management team, the VP of Engineering is a critical contributor to Bombora’s success.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Product Management and other members of Bombora’s executive leadership to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems.
- Drives the velocity of high-quality value to our ecosystem understanding and evangelizing that in today’s environment, when we deliver is often just as important as what we deliver.
- Structures tooling and assets for AI-effectiveness throughout our workflows in both effective and ethical ways to push the potential of our velocity while maintaining our quality standards and career paths for our engineers.
- Drives the evolution of our SDLC methods in collaboration with Product Management to meet the frontier needs of applied AI throughout the span of our processes.
- Contributes to Bombora’s overall technology strategy, advocating for technology initiatives that will drive business outcomes and long-term enterprise value.
- Maintains technical proximity by actively participating in reviews, analyses, and other issues at detailed levels in addition to the macro.
- Establishes, communicates, and implements engineering practices and security measures to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Fosters a collaborative work environment that promotes autonomy, transparency, adaptability, accountability, and a high degree of ownership.
- Inspires and encourages our technical staff and mentors technical directors and managers.
- Ensures that departmental decisions such as staffing, development, and organization, are aligned with Bombora’s business plan and vision.
- Effectively manages and communicates departmental objectives, priorities, trade-offs, and risks both within the department and to other stakeholders.
- Provides transparency at all times about what’s working well and what needs work, taking a metrics driven approach.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 10 or more years of experience leading technical teams, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience in the ad-tech industry and its related technologies would be a big plus as would other business domains involving very highly scaled data management systems.
- Extensive experience collaborating with Product Management, Go-To-Market, and Success teams to achieve holistic goals for our customers.
- Strong proficiency with cloud platforms, distributed systems, and modern development frameworks for software development, data management, testing, DevOps, and security concepts.
- Extensive experience practicing, adapting, and evolving development methodologies to optimize velocity, quality, and team health; not just adherence to somebody’s favorite textbook.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on bringing out the best in people in a highly distributed workforce environment.
- Experience with organizational development, planning, and budgeting processes.
- Experience with technical due diligence and M&A activities is a plus.

Compensation Package
The salary range for this position is $260,000-$320,000 (base and bonus), along with equity (options). Actual compensation may vary and will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
