About the role 

We are looking for an excellent technology leader to join our team in Israel.

The position is permanent and full-time.

As the leader of the new technology team, the VP is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and enabling cutting-edge technologies that will drive future growth, differentiation, and patient impact. This strategic role focuses on technology innovationadvanced research, and early-stage technology translation across the product pipeline. The role partners closely with R&D, Regulatory, Clinical, and Business leaders to build a sustainable innovation ecosystem within a highly regulated environment.


Responsibilities:

As the VP of New Technologies you will be managing a small team of 2-3 experts and will be in charge of -

Technology Foresight & Strategic Innovation

  • Lead the scanning and evaluation of emerging technologies, scientific trends, and digital health innovations relevant to the company’s clinical focus areas.
  • Define the technology innovation strategy and 3–5 year technology roadmap aligned with unmet clinical needs, evolving regulations, and market trends.
  • Sponsor early-stage feasibility studies, proof-of-concept developments, and external technology assessments (e.g., AI/ML, sensors, bioelectronics, advanced materials, smart delivery systems).

Innovation Ecosystem Development

  • Establish and manage an internal innovation framework, including incubation pipelines, idea management systems, and cross-functional ideation initiatives.
  • Develop partnerships with startups, academic labs, innovation hubs, and accelerators to co-develop and evaluate breakthrough technologies.
  • Guide technical assessments and strategic technology scouting, including investment decisions in new platforms or acquisitions.

Cross-Functional Innovation Enablement

  • Partner with R&D, Clinical, and Regulatory Affairs to transition high-potential concepts into product development pathways with sound technical and compliance foundations.
  • Lead technical diligence for strategic partnerships, licensing, and M&A that align with the innovation roadmap.

IP Strategy & Emerging Tech Governance

  • Drive an active intellectual property strategy to protect innovative concepts, technologies, and digital assets.
  • Establish technology governance mechanisms for risk-benefit analysis of unproven technologies, including clinical risk, regulatory impact, and long-term scalability.
  • Interface with legal and regulatory experts to ensure early alignment with global compliance pathways, such as FDA breakthrough device designation or EU MDR novel classification.

Culture of Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Foster a culture of innovation within the technical organization through thought leadership, internal forums, and mentorship of innovation leaders.
  • Contribute to strategic planning sessions with the executive team to shape the future direction of the company through innovation.

Innovation Metrics & Portfolio Management

  • Define and track innovation KPIs, including technology maturity levels (TRL), time-to-pilot, translational success rates, and external collaboration ROI.
  • Maintain a balanced portfolio of core, adjacent, and transformational innovations, ensuring strategic alignment and resource optimization

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical engineering or related fields.
  • Job skills:
  • 10+ years in technology leadership roles in medical devices or life sciences, with a focus on innovation strategy, technology assessment, and R&D translation.
  • Demonstrated track record of scaling novel technologies into clinical-stage or commercial-stage products.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory science, especially in areas involving novel device and combination products.
  • Language skills: Fluent English
