Develop AI and NLP methods with medical and clinical data, from gold-standard annotations through model evaluation.
The research assistant will be working in the PittNAIL lab (https://pittnail.github.io/) to contribute to cutting edge research in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) in healthcare. The research goal of our lab is to develop novel AI and NLP methods using the medical and clinical data to advance healthcare delivery, healthcare quality, clinical and translational research.
Experience and interest in AI, NLP, machine learning, deep learning, big data and those with a keen interest in healthcare or life sciences. The successful candidate may have majored in computer science, information science, biomedical informatics, bioinformatics, health informatics or a related discipline. Will work closely with the principal investigator and other clinical collaborators from UPMC. Help collect and preprocess data, work closely with domain experts developing gold-standard annotations for model training, perform modeling, model evaluation, and disseminate the results in the form of conference presentations and first-authored manuscripts.
