Warehouse Clerk
TLDR
Responsible for shipping/receiving, inventory control, and implementing processes to manage all materials in and out of the warehouse.
Role – The Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for shipping/receiving, inventory management, and overall warehouse operations. This role also requires developing and implementing processes, procedures, and systems for managing all materials in and out of the warehouse.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily walk throughs of the facility ensuring all inventoried items are well stocked.
- Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained, assist in physical inventories daily, weekly, monthly and annually.
- Advise Procurement immediately if you are in danger of being out of any stock to ensure action is taken without having to incur expediting fees.
- Create and track purchase requisitions for goods as needed in an Inventory Management System.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment.
- Efficiently stack and store the material in the appropriate areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality and quantity variances to Procurement.
- Review receiving documents of all inbound shipments to confirm delivered items are accurately noted on the document. Any discrepancies should be clearly noted prior to signing for the shipment.
- Receive physically delivered orders into the Inventory Management System on the delivered date to ensure proper date posting.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped, efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
- Ensure proper stock rotation, FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Coordinate with carrier representatives to plan instructions for shipping and delivery of incoming items.
- Move received goods to inventory or to dispatch areas using any powered materials handling equipment required.
- Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare outgoing shipments.
- Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
- Report all work related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and absent of debris that may be a work hazard.
Required Skills:
Qualification & Skills:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant industry experience in inventory, receiving, supply chain and operations.
- Experience in operating forklifts.
- Must have competent-level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Basic math, English skills and recording abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High school diploma.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel, required to walk; use foot/feet to operate machines, listen & speak.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must be capable/able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
