Job Summary:
At LG Energy Solution Arizona, Inc., the Waste Handler supports LG Energy Solution Arizona by safely collecting, sorting, handling, and transporting the facility’s waste and recyclable materials. This role also supports with waste management activities and ensures materials are handled in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely collection of hazardous, non-hazardous, medical, universal, and recyclable waste materials throughout the facility.
- Communicate with requesters regarding pickup timing and task completion.
- Support the safe and efficient operation of all waste-handling activities.
- Perform required inspections of waste storage and handling areas.
- Maintain waste-handling areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Communicate waste-related concerns and updates to the EH&S team.
- Perform all duties in compliance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- OSHA HAZWOPER (40-hr) Certification preferred
- Proven commitment to follow strict safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in varying weather conditions
- Familiarity with waste handling equipment (e.g., dollies, drums, powered industrial trucks) and basic knowledge of hazardous material labeling and storage requirements
- Understanding of EPA, local environmental regulations, a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work collaboratively with environmental, operations and safety teams, as well as contractors and vendors to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Flexibility to adapt to changing daily work activities, assignments, and priorities
- Ability to work shifts up to 12 hours in duration and compressed work week schedules, including weekend days as required by schedule
- Ability to work overtime, as required
