General Manager - Xplore (Schaijk)

You are an inspiring manager, a connector and the driving force in the development of Viroclinics-DDL, location Schaijk, named Xplore. You anticipate on developments in the market and facilitate the growth of the internal organization and the business.

In this leadership role you are accountable for business strategies to facilitate operational excellence, P&L, client focus, talent management/succession planning and engagement strategies for the Xplore business unit.

You will lead a multi-functional and multi-cultural team of direct and indirect reports (currently around 30 FTE and expected to grow to approximately 60 FTE in the coming few years). The team consists of Study Directors, (bio)technical laboratory and support staff. As General Manager you will oversee and support the Schaijk site and stimulate the development of site infrastructure and facilities.

Because of the recent acquisition by Cerba Research the scope of the organization has broadened and new opportunities have arisen. You ensure smooth cooperation between the departments within Xplore as business unit as well as the bigger organization and are a driving force of establishing a culture of collaboration, engagement and alignment between various functions and departments on site and above site.

The General Manager reports to the Chief Operations Officer. Together with the COO and the General Managers of the Rijswijk and Rotterdam locations, the General Manager Xplore forms the Operational Management Team. You will be responsible for setting strategic direction of Xplore, in alignment with corporate goals and objectives of Viroclinics-DDL and Cerba Research

Your responsibilities:

  • You are P&L responsible: you monitor and control financial performance of the site to obtain realistic revenues, and profit within agreed budget and strategic objectives
  • Delegation, coordination and/or support of Xplore site operations, account management and business development according to annual goals, site budgets and project prognoses (order portfolio management)
  • Final responsibility for project execution, meeting timeline expectations of clients and the delivery of results according to company quality standards
  • Organization of up-to-date functioning of current and future building, laboratory, equipment, work- and safety related procedures and the adequate presence of supporting documents, licenses and insurances
  • Organization of the new future building on the premises, in order to facilitate further growth
  • Enabling a transparent and compassionate working environment with attention for training, personnel growth and development of service-oriented skills
  • Organizing or is first point of contact for HR, QA, Legal, Finance and Business Development related matters in the broadest sense
  • Organizing or is first point of contact for multi-site projects and collaborates with other affiliate group companies
