Overview of the team

The FP&A team partners with the business and reports directly into Zego’s leadership team. FP&A performs budgeting & forecasting, provides key financial KPI insights to the business, and is involved in all strategic business cases including investor/fundraising activities.

Purpose of role

This role is responsible for leading the Financial Planning and Analysis team which drives good decision making throughout Zego’s business through business partnering and robust reporting and analysis. This role will lead a team of 2 senior analysts to own budgeting & re-forecasts, reporting our key financial and operational metrics and leading commercial ad hoc pieces of analysis - the role acts as an enabler for the business to make good decisions.

This role will also be responsible for working alongside the CEO/leadership on fundraising efforts (equity / debt and capital for our insurance carrier), performing M&A due diligence and getting involved in strategic projects that will shape the future of Zego.

What you will be working on:

Financial Planning

• Prepare consistent annual financial plan for Zego in collaboration with all Functions

• Prepare financial scenarios
• Assess financial impact of proposed business actions
• Advise LT members on proposed business actions

Performance Reporting

• Assess monthly performance
• Prepare monthly performance reports
• Prepare and continue improving Key Management KPI reporting

Strategic Projects:

• Financial review and support on M&A
• Advising on financing structure and carrier strategy

Investor Relations:

• Support CEO, CFO & leadership in fundraising (equity & debt)
• Prepare analytical fundraising documents
• Oversee ongoing reporting to investors/debt providers

What you will need to be successful in the role:

• You are a proven team leader with experience working collaboratively with a broad set of stakeholders and senior management to help solve problems and challenge the status quo
• You are comfortable with uncertainty, imperfect data and making decisions in short amounts of time
• You have good knowledge of Financial Reporting and how to extract insight from these
• You know what a good financial model/forecast looks like and when a simple 10 row calculation is a better alternative to a 30 tab model
• You possess the ability to influence key decision makers and aren’t bogged down by hierarchies
• You are comfortable with a dynamic fast paced environment and can learn quickly
• You are adept at building relationships and communicating across the business to bring together information eliminating any siloed decision making
• You are comfortable getting your hands dirty and reviewing detailed models but also able to step back and see the ‘big picture’
• You are able to distill complex information and problems and simplify them into actionable insights for a broad set of stakeholders
• You have experience in venture capital (debt & equity) fundraises, you know what a good pitch deck, data room looks like and how to craft a story that’s compelling to investors
