The Role

We are hiring a Head of Operations & Logistics for our client in Saudi Arabia to play a pivotal role in contributing to the development of a cutting-edge supply chain management platform for fresh produce and driving its expansion in the Saudi market. Help our client revolutionize the industry using AI and build a more efficient and sustainable supply chain. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced professional to lead the establishment and growth of our operations in the region.

You will effectively be the first employee on the ground in the region. Daily tasks will vary from tracking fruit and vegetables manually in trucks to attending strategy meetings with the leadership team. This is an extremely hands-on role and will require both market expertise as well as startup leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Pilot Project Management: Plan, lead and execute early pilots with early customers. Be scrappy, lean and execute against pilot scope ensuring project outcomes and KPIs are well defined and met.

• Market Expansion: Identify market opportunities, develop market entry strategies, and execute plans to expand the venture's presence in Saudi Arabia.

• Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring that they are motivated, aligned with company goals, and equipped to deliver exceptional results.

• Client Engagement: Establish and nurture relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in the Saudi Arabian market. Maintain a deep understanding of client needs and tailor solutions accordingly.

• Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations, including project management, resource allocation, and quality assurance to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with Saudi Arabian regulations and industry standards, ensuring that the company operates in full compliance with local laws.

• Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and work towards profitability goals for the Saudi Arabia operation.

• Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the company's overall strategy for the Saudi market and align operational activities with strategic objectives.

• Market Research: Continuously monitor market trends, competition, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly.

• Reporting: Provide regular reports to the executive team on the progress of Saudi operations, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

Experience

• Proven experience in operations management, preferably in the technology or data analytics sector.

• Proven experience of working in FMCG supply chains.

• Strong understanding of the Saudi Arabian market and business environment.

• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with fluency in Saudi Arabian Arabic and English.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

• Results-oriented and able to work effectively in a dynamic startup environment.
