Lead Developer
We are looking for a motivated and creative Unity engine developer to work at the forefront of mobile augmented reality technologies in support of a training and educational application. You will work primarily with the product development team and be responsible for planning and implementing application functionality and ensuring the quality of the finished product. Collaborating with a variety of departments, this role requires a candidate with excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude and a good team ethic. We are looking for someone who can work with us toward a unified common vision.
Requirements
Objectives of this Role
- Take ownership of entire features and components of the application lifecycle and lead the product design and code elements
- Collaborate with other members of the team to deliver features on time and to a high standard
- Be part of the development process and contribute improvements and suggestions, driving the quality of the code throughout the entire production cycle
- Mentor other developers in the team and help maintain code, product, and process quality
- Partner with IT, Marketing, Design and Content personnel to ensure schedules and goals meet business and project needs
- Conduct code reviews and be part of the hiring process for future colleagues
- Help lead the vision and development of groundbreaking technologies
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Attend team and company meetings
- Plan, design and implement application features working as part of the wider Baltu Technologies team
- Transform design specification into functional application assets
- Establish an effective strategy and development pipeline
- Quickly create and iterate on prototypes showcasing efficacious designs and interaction patterns
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Ensure the best performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Identify process and application bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner

Skills and Qualifications
- Strong C# object-oriented programming and scripting language skills
- Experience working with Unity assets (canvases, XR add-ons, materials etc)
- Experience profiling and optimizing application performance (GPU and CPU)
- Experience working with source control systems such as Git in a multi developer team environment.
- Understanding UX design process and experience working with UX design teams
- 5+ years experience with Unity application development
- 5+ years experience with JSON
- 5+ years experience with client/server architecture
- 5+ years of experience with Xcode and Apple developer tools for iOS
- 5+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with client/server architecture
- Inquisitiveness and visionary ideas in the augmented reality technology space
- Ability to adapt and excel within a high-performance startup environment
- Great if you have a college degree, even better if you’ve shipped products. Portfolio of mobile applications development experience is a plus.
