Into to Talent Development
Reporting to the Head of Talent Development, this is a critical role that will have a high impact on GoCardless’ ability to deliver on its ambitious strategy to be the global leader in account to account payments.
Over the next few years we expect to accelerate the growth and learning of our employees, build an increasingly focused learning culture and create learning opportunities across the organisation. Our Talent Development promise is at the core of our Talent development strategy and is based on a handshake between GoCardless and employees with clear expectations on both sides.
The role
- Talent Development processes:
- You will be responsible for both the design and run of our talent development processes such as performance and promotions, in line with our Talent Development Promise.
- You will be responsible for designing our onboarding process and working with closely with People ops to run the process.
- Proactively manage process changes by building out detailed implementation plans and communication plans. You will strive to bring a step change in the way we run promotions and constantly improve our performance review process.
- Talent Development data:
- Collect Talent Development data to determine learning needs. Analyse and segment our GeeCee population based on various criteria to allow us to target our talent development actions and be most impactful
- Own our Talent Development data to ensure the measurement of Talent Development impact, ensuring we continually think about how to improve our impact and the measurability of our talent development
- Build the GoCardless skills map to create an understanding of the skills we have now and the skills we’ll need to support executing on our business strategy
- Create and own a talent map of GC talent, identifying high potential talent and addressing low performance issues hand in hand with our People Partner team
- Talent Development infrastructure
- Own the setup and continuous improvement of talent development tools and systems, in particular our LMS and performance management system
- Pull together content and learning pathways in our LMS, hand in hand with our Senior Talent Development manager
- Develop clear career pathways and support hand in hand with key stakeholders in the business
- Work hand in hand with the business & the Talent Development team
- Partner internally to embed D&I into every aspect of our talent development strategy, in alignment with other parts of the business
- Contribute to, and influence, the strategy for the global Talent Development function, in alignment with overall business strategy and annual objectives
- Create a productive feedback loop with the business to continually improve our ability to deliver impactful processes to GeeCees. Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to feed into our understanding of business needs
Desired skills
- Experience in a fast-growth tech scale-up or start-up with international presence. Experience in a SaaS business is a plus
- Proven talent development experience with demonstrable achievements in developing a strong learning culture and impactful talent processes
- Structured thinker with ability to frame and solve unstructured problems
- Very proficient with data and qualitative feedback with the ability of joining the 2 together to influence the build of programmes and processes
- Ability to build/scale/run highly operational systems, tools and processes to deliver on our overall business and talent development objectives, with a constant focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Ability to build the talent development infrastructure in terms of systems, processes and tools to ensure the team can run at pace
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels, gaining their acceptance, and driving change
- Being curious with a strong desire to innovate and create impact
