Talent Strategy & Enablement
This role is focused on ensuring Stripe’s culture, talent philosophies, and employee experience are at the center of all career management and development programs, and that these programs coherently reinforce each other. In this role, you will partner with program owners and people team leadership to analyze, provide guidance, and help implement program design, user and technology enablement, and analytics usage. This will be done with the goal of creating user experiences that are aligned with Stripe’s culture and business aspirations, and are positioned to effectively scale with growth expectations.
You will:
- Contribute to the development of a business-back talent philosophy/strategy that guides people programs and ensures Stripe’s culture, user focus, and scale requirements remain top of mind (apply this to everything you do)
- Partner with program owners to build and implement programs and strategies tailored to the development and retention of high performing and high potential talent
- Evaluate the current approach to people programs, including careers and learning, gather requirements from stakeholders, and identify leading practices for program evolvement
- Bring forward program features and functionality that take advantage of leading practices
- Build approaches and disciplines to ensure the application of user-centered design across people programs
- Partner with program owners on ongoing talent and learning system redesigns
- Establish the governance framework for people programs focused on individual program operations, across people functions, and with broader Stripes
- Define the approach by which careers, performance and learning outcomes can be actioned throughout people processes and decision making (e.g., to develop more targeted goals, recruitment job criteria, compensation plans)
- Establish measurement criteria (metrics) that can be used to evaluate the career model and learning outcomes and partner with program leaders to drive continuous program improvements
- Partner with the People Analytics team to develop a set of analytics (reports, dashboards, predictive models) focused on career and learning KPI outcomes
- Partner with People Operations to ensure requirements are projected, clearly defined and prioritized, and budgets and vendors are well managed; joint accountability for success of implementation
Successful candidates will have:
- Broad-based knowledge of HR including HR strategy, functions, programs, analytics and technology
- Transformational project leadership expertise; ideally engagement manager-level HR/strategy/management consulting experience
- Experience with user-centered design thinking and techniques
- The ability to generate ideas through creative thinking while also applying critical thinking to turn those ideas into real implementable solutions
- The ability to balance the needs of the business along with the needs of Stripe employees; the ability to put yourself in the shoes of the user/customer (user-centric) or the business (bottom-line centric) and analyze from each perspective
- Strong collaboration skills - views success not only by individual contributions, but by the success of the overall team
- Leadership acumen; show up as a self-motivated leader who is curious, always learning, and able to elevate the performance of those they work with
- Comfort with the uncomfortable - must enjoy a fast-paced, challenging environment and have confidence in your instincts/decision making
- An ability to take abstract and difficult tasks and come up with solutions/approaches that are easy to understand
- An affinity for being results oriented; able to establish tangible milestones and targets and work towards reaching them
