Job Description

The VP of Global Talent will have the responsibility of leading a small team that will produce engaging, scalable, and impactful programs, tools, and resources to accelerate business performance and solidify the embodiment of Magic Leap’s culture. The role will provide strategic and operational leadership for learning and development, leadership development, performance management, talent acquisition, culture and diversity and inclusion to drive results and meet the business needs of a growing, global organization. 

The leader will play a key role in defining and advancing leadership capabilities, fostering inclusivity and empowering employees and teams with the knowledge and tools to be successful. The role partners with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify organizational needs and develop and implement innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the evaluation and management of the performance management process including goal setting, performance coaching, calibration, and reviews.
  • Develops and implements talent management practices including talent calibration and assessment tools and succession plans to identify future leaders in the organization and create effective development strategies to support the organization today and in the future.
  • Aligns leadership behaviors with culture through the development and implementation of core leadership expectations / framework and aligned development solutions.
  • Delivers leadership development programs, solutions, and strategies to strengthen leadership skills, build diverse talent pipelines and retain high-potential talent through investments in strategic solutions, including coaching, formal/informal education, and individual development planning.
  • Spends time with the People team and leadership to understand emerging business trends, skill needs, and corresponding branding, hiring, internal pipelining and development strategies.
  • Creates the vision for delivering solutions that instill a culture of innovation, unity and user centricity.
  • Delivers intern and rotational development programs for early career development and internal mobility and growth.
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships and partners closely with business leaders, Business Partners, and colleagues to understand and analyze performance gaps, identify development needs and recommend appropriate solutions to strengthen talent at all levels.
  • Oversees budget and vendor management, and a selection of external partners.
  • Works with an internal team to ensure design and delivery of compelling and relevant experiences.
  • Oversees programs to ensure organizational awareness, stakeholder buy-in, and high engagement of people initiatives.
  • Ensures programs, processes, and initiatives embed inclusive practices. 

Qualifications

  • Proven presentation and communication skills and the ability to build strategic business cases
  • Demonstrated ability to design, lead and execute complex projects, simultaneously with position impact and timely results
  • Ability to synthesize information, develop sound recommendations, and present data to aid in effective decision-making
  • Exceptional people leader, with demonstrated success managing and building high-performing teams
  • Strong ability to inspire, coach, and consult leaders through change and transformation
  • Adept at considering business strategy, developing or evaluating alternative solutions, and outlining potential risks and benefits
  • Team-oriented with the ability to foster a collaborative and creative environment and an inclusive and diverse workplace
  • Highly adaptable to change; able to easily navigate between high-level strategy and roll-up-sleeves execution
  • If remote-based, the ability to travel once a month to our various locations
  • Extensive hands-on experience with all aspects of talent management, talent acquisition, learning and development, and diversity and inclusion strategies, tools, and practices
  • Proven track record of establishing a vision for a talent development and building a high-quality portfolio of integrated and scalable solutions and programs
  • A background working with fast-paced, high-growth and/or transformation technology companies
  • A minimum of 10+ years in a progressive people organization (or similar) having served at least five years in a Talent Management leadership role or similar function, supporting an organization of comparable size and complexity

 Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. In addition to salary, Magic Leap offers a discretionary bonus, equity, and a fully comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.
