About us:
Zoox is a rapidly-growing, DFJ-funded startup in Menlo Park building an autonomous vehicle for the future. Founded a little over one year ago, Zoox has grown to 35 employees in short time and expects that growth to continue for some time.
In light of this expansion, we are in need of a sharp, professional and ambitious Human Resources Manager to oversee the day-to-day demands of a growing employee roster, and to help implement a suite of HR policies, programs and practices that support a culture of excellence, productivity and employee satisfaction.
About the job:
The successful candidate will become Zoox’s first dedicated HR employee. Consequently, it will be a demanding and challenging position requiring adaptability, but one that also provides the opportunity to make a genuine mark on the culture of a rapidly growing company in an exciting space.
Specific responsibilities will include:

Working with hiring managers to compose job descriptions, post job openings, pre-screen candidates, and schedule interviews.

Managing the onboarding process in a way that sets new recruits up for success.

Maintaining employee benefits programs by:
-
studying and assessing benefit needs and trends;

recommending benefit programs to management;
-
managing the relationship with benefits providers, and;
-
keeping employees informed and responding to enquiries regarding benefit programs.

Ensuring legal compliance with all applicable human resource federal and state requirements.

Maintaining human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system to archive current and past personnel records.

Liaising with immigration counsel to manage visa applications for international recruits.

Working with the Chief of Staff to design, implement and evaluate human resource policies and procedures.

Performing other roles as required.
About you:
The successful candidate will:

Have a minimum of five years experience working in HR roles.

Be highly ambitious, self-directed, and organized.

Possess an acute attention to detail, maintaining accurate and up-to-date personnel files, and best-practice hiring and onboarding processes.

Be attuned to the subtleties of a growing office and capable of responding to personnel issues with sensitivity and diplomacy.
