Sales Development Representative - SBO

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Xero, you will be responsible for generating and qualifying leads through outbound prospecting efforts. You will be expected to make 100 outbound dials each day to small business owners in order to schedule meetings with our onboarding specialists responsible for the entire sales funnel.

The ideal candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a passion for sales, and a desire to learn and grow within the SaaS industry. While prior experience in a SaaS company or entry-level sales position is preferred, it is not required.

What you'll do

  • Make 100 outbound dials each day to small business owners in order to schedule meetings with our onboarding specialists responsible for the entire sales funnel.
  • Utilize a variety of channels to reach prospects including phone, email, and social media.
  • Qualify inbound leads and route to the appropriate sales representative.
  • Conduct research on potential customers and identify key decision-makers within the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activities and track progress in our CRM.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and refine the lead generation strategy.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings and training sessions to continually improve skills and knowledge.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly quotas.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology and software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Prior experience in a SaaS company or entry-level sales position preferred but not required.
